Yah-yah-yah Bando, bando—bass shake the dust from the frame Same old walls, new night, same weight on my name Bando huh Uh— If u got words, let ’em out Phone lit up, thumb freeze, I just let it glow Got a whole lot to say, nowhere safe to go Every time I crack the door, hear the judgment creep So I lock that hurt away, let it howl in my sleep Mirror got a hard look, I got a harder one back Been carrying old storms like a coat full of cracks Little kid in my chest still waits on a hand Grew up learning “stay tough,” never learned how to stand Now the night ride slow, tires hiss on the black Head full of bad turns, can’t reverse that track I’ve been pouring down the noise just to quiet my head But the hush don’t last long when I wake in that bed Bando, bando, when the low end rolls Tell me who you call when you’re losing control I been shut in, shut down, with my back to the wall But I’m still here breathing—so I’m making that call Bando, bando, let the whole truth spill Ain’t a weakness in a voice that’s saying, “I’m not well” If the dark gets loud, let somebody come through I don’t gotta face this night like I got nothing to lose Kids’ shoes by the door, little coats on the chair That’s the reason I keep fighting through the thick midnight air I got flaws in a stack, got regrets in a pile Still, they look at me like I can make ’em smile So I’m done with the act, done pretending I’m stone Done calling every closed door proof I’m alone If the bottle starts talking, I can set it aside If my hands start shaking, I can ask for a ride God, I don’t have a speech, just a breath and a plea If You hear this rough voice, put some light over me I don’t need all the answers by the break of the day Just a person who can listen while I find what to say Bando, bando, when the low end rolls Tell me who you call when you’re losing control I been shut in, shut down, with my back to the wall But I’m still here breathing—so I’m making that call Bando, bando, let the whole truth spill Ain’t a weakness in a voice that’s saying, “I’m not well” If the dark gets loud, let somebody come through I don’t gotta face this night like I got nothing to lose No more reading my worth in the worst thing I did No more blaming that grown man on the scared little kid I can’t change every scar, can’t erase every year But I can open one door, let a good voice come near One call, one word, one step out the haze One hand on the wheel through the roughest part of the maze Breathe slow, stay put, let the morning arrive I ain’t fixed, I ain’t finished—but I’m choosing to try Bando, bando, let the low end roll I found one voice I can trust with my soul I been shut in, shut down, but I’m done with the wall When the night gets heavy, I can make that call Bando, bando, let the whole truth spill There’s a spark in the ash and it’s burning here still For the kids, for myself, for the life I can choose I don’t gotta face this night like I got nothing to lose Bando, bando—bass fade, dawn in view Still got miles, still got work, still got love coming through 1 breath, one call, one day at a time I’m here, I’m here—let that be my first line I keep saying it like it makes it true— Im ok, I’m ok Tell me, who gets the truth when the night leans in I wear that grin, let the same old lie win. “I’m ok, I’m ok,” through my teeth, through the ache, while the room gets smaller and the walls start to sway. Every face feels like a jury, every word feels weighed, so I shut another door, let the silence get paid. But the dark knows my name; it keeps calling again, and I hate how it feels like the one thing that stays. The little ones are sleeping; I don’t want them scared, but I cant keep calling silence the same thing as care. If I let one honest sentence out, maybe the hurt won’t have to keep getting louder just to be heard. Who do u call when the dark comes down? When ur own thoughts get too loud to drown “I’m okay, I’m okay”—there it goes again, like a locked front door with a crack in it. If all I can say is, “I’m scared; stay near,” that’s one true word. Let somebody hear. Who do you talk to when you can’t see thru Tonight, I can start by reaching to you. Little kid waiting for a hand that never came, learned to wear hard edges like a second name. Now I leave before I’m left, push love out of reach, then blame the empty room for having no one to keep. Smoke in my lungs, borrowed quiet in a glass, peace with a price when the numbness wears past. My hands shake, my head runs a hundred what-ifs, and the mirror talks cruel like it knows all my sins. I’ve said things in anger, then hid from the shame; I keep calling myself what the pain wants to name. But a thought isn’t a verdict, and a wound isn’t proof that I’m not worth the patience it takes to get thru Who do you call when the dark comes down When your own thoughts get too loud to drown
