[Intro] What is Memorial Day? Why do people wave flags and pray? [Verse 1] Come sit with me on this porch swing, I’ll tell you what this day can mean. More than sunshine, games, and play, There’s love in Memorial Day. [Chorus] M-E-M-O-R-I-A-L A story we remember well. Every letter helps us say Why we honor Memorial Day. [Verse 2] M is Memory, love stays near, E is Everyone we hold dear, M is Men and women brave, O is Others who gave. R means Remember every name, I means I honor just the same, A is America we share, L is Love still everywhere. [Chorus] M-E-M-O-R-I-A-L A story we remember well. Every letter helps us say Why we honor Memorial Day. [Bridge] Red, white, and blue up high, Waving underneath the sky. Freedom grows from those so brave, Love remembers what they gave. [Final Chorus] M-E-M-O-R-I-A-L A story we remember well. Every letter helps us say Why we honor Memorial Day.
