VERSE 1 — SOUL / PAIN I done prayed inside the dark where nobody could hear me, Had a room full of love, still felt like nobody near me. Mama said, “Son, keep faith,” I was fighting through the fear, Had some people say forever, disappear inside a year. I was broke with a dream, had ambition in my pocket, Every door they tried to close put more fuel inside the rocket. I got scars I never show, I got tears I never mention, Made a prison out my thoughts, then I rapped my own redemption. If the choir sing tonight, tell ’em sing it for the lost, For the ones who paid in pain and never calculated cost. I learned diamonds need pressure, but the pressure leave you changed, So when everybody see the glow, they don’t know about the rain. I don’t flex because I made it—I remember being low, When the fridge was sounding empty but my heart was screaming, “Go.” If I ever touch the heavens, I’ma reach back through the clouds, ’Cause I know what being invisible feels like inside a crowd. VERSE 2 — RAP-ROCK / REBELLION Okay, kick that door—I came alive when they counted me dead, Had a war with my reflection, now we sharing the bed. Every scar on my skin got a story attached, I was striking every match ’cause I hated the dark. They said tone it down—nah, turn the whole thing louder, Built a backbone from the nights when my confidence shattered. I got thunder in my lungs, gasoline in the booth, You can hate the way I talk, you can’t argue with truth. I was young, pissed off, trying to outrun my past, Now I’m flooring every mile like the tank gotta last. Love came with a blade, fame came with a fee, Had to lose who they wanted just to find who was me. So put the drums on ten, let the whole room shake, I survived every version they expected me to fake. If tomorrow ain’t promised, then tonight I’m going crazy— Middle finger to the fear that was trying to contain me. VERSE 3 — INTROSPECTION / STORYTELLING Look— I met a kid on the corner with his dreams in a bag, Same hoodie every winter, never knew his own dad. Teachers called him distracted, but his lights got cut off, How you focus on equations when survival is the cost? He said, “Man, I want a chain.” I said, “Why?” He said, “Respect.” I said, “What happens when they love the stones and overlook your neck?” He got quiet for a minute, kicked a rock across the street, Said, “At least when you got money, people listen when you speak.” Damn. That sentence hit different when you came from where he came, Where they memorize your losses ’fore they ever know your name. So I told him wealth is freedom, but freedom starts within, Know the difference between feeding your family and feeding trends. I ain’t preaching—I’m still learning what the mirror gotta teach, Trying to practice every jewel that I package in a speech. ’Cause a rapper with an answer ain’t as useful as he seems If he never asks the questions that can wake another dream. VERSE 4 — DENSE / CINEMATIC Choir behind me, I’m walking through fire with receipts, Every halo got a shadow when ambition in the streets. I seen angels with addictions, seen a villain show compassion, Seen a righteous man go broke while a liar built a mansion. That’s duality—truth hiding underneath appearance, Everybody want the crown, nobody studying endurance. I’m interrogating ego like a suspect in the room, “What you chasing—being timeless or applause that expire soon?” My conscience said, “Choose.” My hunger said, “Take it.” My trauma said, “Run.” My spirit said, “Face it.” So I stood ten toes where the old me got buried, Every fear came dressed like somebody I cherished. Now I’m cutting through illusion, every syllable surgical, Trying to make a song commercial without making truth purchasable. This ain’t rap for reaction, this is blood in the ink, Make you dance for a second then go home and overthink. When the organ hit the chord, I want the whole room still— ’Cause the loudest kind of power is a line you gotta feel. VERSE 5 — REVOLUTION / SURVIVAL I come from where the sirens made the babies light sleepers, Where the corner had philosophers, hustlers and dreamers. Grandma kept the Bible open right beside the overdue, Told me, “Faith without the work ain’t gon’ do the work for you.” So I worked. With the weight of the block on my shoulder, Had a young man’s rage but the soul of a soldier. I seen brothers lose years for mistakes made at twenty, While another man steal millions and still leave with plenty. Tell me justice got a price, who exactly set the rate? Why the poor gotta be perfect just to get a little grace? I ain’t asking for a throne, I’m demanding us a table, Where a child’s ZIP code don’t decide what they’re able. Still I love this country enough to challenge what is wrong, Love my people enough to put their struggle in a song. And if truth make ’em nervous, let the nervousness remain— Ain’t no healing in pretending you ain’t bleeding from the pain. VERSE 6 — MELODIC / CONFIDENT Yeah, funny how they call when the numbers start climbing, Same ones missed the sunrise now they asking about timing. I got love for ’em though—I don’t carry what I conquered, Had to learn holding grudges only make the baggage longer. Phone full of names that I probably shouldn’t dial, Heart full of things that I hide behind a smile. Everybody loves the winner, but the winner still remembers Who was there when every summer felt colder than December. Now the view got wider, but the circle got thin, Money solve a couple problems, bring another couple in. They want captions from the lifestyle, I want peace when I sleep, ’Cause what good is getting everything you prayed for if it’s cheap? I want ownership, legacy, something my blood can inherit, Not just bottles and a section with some strangers taking pictures. If I tell you that I love you, understand I never play— I done watched too many people become memories in a day. VERSE 7 — FINALE / SOUTHERN FIRE Now bring the choir back— I need drums like judgment day, I need every hand raised for the ones who found a way. From the factory floor to the corner-store clerk, From the nurse on a double to the father out of work. This for everybody grinding where the cameras never go, Building somebody else’s kingdom while their own dreams moving slow. They call working people ordinary—I reject that description, There’s a hero in the struggle when survival is the mission. I want land, I want knowledge, want the babies reading contracts, Want the dollar circulating where the people put their hearts at. Want the young ones knowing ownership is bigger than a necklace, Real power ain’t attention—real power is direction. Seven voices, one booth, every wound became a weapon, Every loss became a lesson, every prayer became a blessing. We ain’t begging for a seat—we brought the table through the entrance, Turned the pain into a record, turned the record to a message. So when that gospel sample rises, let the final bar breathe: I spent my whole life chasing something I already had in me. No crown made me a king, no crowd taught me belief— I walked through hell carrying heaven, now the whole world gets a piece.
