[Verse 1] The first cool breeze comes rolling through the market square Dry leaves chase each other, turning circles everywhere You pull your collar up and laugh into the day I catch that little spark and let it lead the way [Pre-Chorus] The sun slips low, but we’re not slowing down Your bright red scarf flies over this old town [Chorus] Autumn wind, carry us along Kick up the leaves while we sing our song Autumn wind, turn the season around We’ll keep our feet light when the cold comes down [Verse 2] A paper cup of cider warms your hands in mine The shopkeeper is humming as he closes up the sign We take the long way home beside the river bend Each gust makes the bare branches bow and wave again [Pre-Chorus] The sun slips low, but we’re not slowing down Your bright red scarf flies over this old town [Chorus] Autumn wind, carry us along Kick up the leaves while we sing our song Autumn wind, turn the season around We’ll keep our feet light when the cold comes down [Bridge] When the mornings bite and the evenings come early We’ll share one umbrella, walk home in a hurry No need to wait for a warmer sky There’s a little more summer when you’re by my side [Final Chorus] Autumn wind, carry us along Kick up the leaves while we sing our song Autumn wind, turn the season around We’ll keep our feet light when the cold comes down Autumn wind, carry us along Laugh through the gusts till the night is gone Autumn wind, turn the season around We’ll keep our feet light when the cold comes down [Outro] Carry us along Autumn wind, carry us along
