The Oak and The Widows Daughter

V5.5

[Verse 1] Before she wore a crown of England, Before the lilies graced her hair, A young Luna stood in mourning With her sons beside her there. By an ancient roadside oak tree, Dressed in black and grief and rain, She waited not for kings or glory, Only justice once again. [Verse 2] Then there came a wolf in velvet, Tall and bright as summer's day. A Velor with a warrior's bearing, Used to getting his own way. He had ridden through a hundred battles, He had seen men break and bend. Yet he stopped beneath that old oak, For the scent of hearth and home. [Chorus] For the Luna is the heartbeat, She is fire against the cold. And the Velor is her shelter, Living shield and living hold. One brings grace and one brings courage, One brings light and one brings flame. Neither oak nor hearth can flourish If they stand and grow alone. [Verse 3] He saw not beauty first, but stillness. Saw her sons and how they clung. Saw a woman carrying sorrow Yet refusing to succumb. She saw not first a king before her, Nor the gold upon his hand. She saw a tired, lonely warrior Trying hard to understand. [Verse 4] So they met beneath the branches, Widow, warrior, rain and leaves. Neither knowing all the turning Moon and crown and destiny. And he loved her with a fierceness That bewildered all his court. For a Velor knows his heartbeat Long before he knows the words. [Chorus] For the Luna is the heartbeat, She is memory and grace. And the Velor is her shelter, Standing watch in every place. She gives meaning to his striving. He gives safety to her song. Neither oak nor hearth can flourish If they stand and grow alone. [Bridge] The Thalen watched and counted dangers, Whispered caution, measured costs. Anara tended wounds and tempers, Kept the frightened from being lost. For even kings and queens are fragile, Even love requires a hand To hold the peace and keep the stories And remind the heart to stand. No wolf lives by love alone. No crown survives by swords alone. The hearth requires all three stones. [Verse 5] They gave each other what was missing. He gave shelter, she gave rest. She reminded him why battles mattered. He made room for her to breathe again. And though storms would gather round them, Though their children all would bear Wars of roses, grief and longing, Still that ancient truth stayed there. [Final Chorus] For the Luna is the heartbeat, She is home and hope and spring. And the Velor is her shelter, Shield of hearth and shield of kin. Thalen keeps tomorrow breathing. Anara keeps the spirit whole. Three stones bear the weight together, Bound in body, heart, and soul. So remember by the old oak: Not all kingdoms start with war. Sometimes all the moon intends is One tired wolf and one who swore— I will guard you. I will know you. I will stand when others flee. And a grieving Luna answered, Then sit beside this tree with me.
