Black Sheep

V6-MINI

[In the style of Donny Munro and RunRig] I always thought I was the black sheep, the youngest of the clan, one brother and three sisters, with no idea where I ran. They seemed to have it figured out, or so it seemed to me, while I was busy wondering what they all could clearly see. Three sisters older than their brother, who'd learned the ropes before, while I was still the wee one being told what not to do. I wore my little black-sheep badge without a word or fuss, convinced the family would be better if they'd just got rid of us. Then years rolled by like Highland mist, and stories came to light, when one of my sisters finally said, "I never felt I fit quite right." The second sister laughed and said, "Well, neither did I." The third one simply shook her head, "I thought I'd pass you by." Then I looked across at my brother, who grinned from ear to ear, and said, "I thought I was the one who didn't belong round here." Well, that was quite a revelation, and somewhat hard to take. Five people playing black sheep in the very same mistake. For each of us had watched the rest and thought, "They've got it made." While quietly believing we were the one mislaid. Perhaps there was no black sheep, no family rebel at all, just five different personalities bouncing off the same four walls. One brother, three sisters, and me, the youngest lad, each thinking everyone else had the family handbook had. We spent our younger years convinced we somehow didn't fit, while looking at the others and thinking, "They've got it." So now when someone asks me who the black sheep really was, I smile and say, "Well, all five of us..." **We were just different ... "each one an' awe".**
