[Verse 1] [1 bar intro] Somewhere there’s another story Being written line by line Taking roads I’ve never traveled Moving underneath this sky We met for a brief moment Then carried on our ways Our paths crossed but never merged Yet something still remains [Chorus] The sky was never empty It was full of lights unseen Every light had traveled farther Long before it reached me So wherever you are tonight Under the same sky I’ll trust the miles between us The way I trust the stars [Verse 2] They say the light above us Has traveled years through space Crossing endless miles of darkness Just to find this place Every star keeps shining through Even when its light grows dim Distance doesn’t stop the light From finding its way in [Chorus] The sky was never empty It was full of lights unseen Every light had traveled farther Long before it reached me So wherever you are tonight Under the same sky I’ll trust the miles between us The way I trust the stars [Bridge] There’s a rhythm to the heavens We don’t have to understand Time has never rushed the starlight Still it finds a place to land Some paths keep drawing closer Even if they never merge Still there’s beauty in the journey No matter where it leads [Final Chorus] The sky was never empty It was full of lights unseen Every light had traveled farther Long before it reached me So wherever you are tonight Under the same sky I’ll trust the miles between us The way I trust the stars
