"Nothing in the world is single All things by a law divine In one spirit meet and mingle Why not I with thine?" † ~ daffodil (for pam) this vase of flowers on the table grows less like a thing and more like work of art where they and i, encompassed in one heart shall meet and mingle beauty in repose each thing of sense out of one spirit flows one being permeates each single part until no seam remains, as from the start all separation union overthrows here substance is but veil on which we lean and, leaning, lose the boundary of a name so let me thus be bound up in this scene : these flowers gift to sight an ancient claim that holy union, writ in gold and green in daffodil, a larger truth proclaim ~ † Percy Bysshe Shelley, "Love’s Philosophy" (1819) artwork by pam, "Spring in Porcelain"
