Grace Offends the Righteous

Yeah… grace offends the righteous, Cuts the proud and heals the lifeless. They can’t stand it — it’s too priceless, Can’t control it, can’t indict this. They want law — I want the Lamb, They sell faith — I just say “I am.” They build idols — He said “Scram,” Grace walks in, dismantles scams. They mad that Heaven don’t do ranks, That sinners still fill Heaven’s banks. They mad that love don’t take their thanks, That grace don’t need their phony planks. They fast, they tithe, they preach, they grind, They flex their works like “look, I’m kind!” But grace ain’t earned — it’s unconfined, It saves the thief and breaks mankind. They hate that mercy don’t require fame, That grace redeems what law calls shame. They point at me — “you playin’ game,” But grace rewrote my inner flame. They hate when Heaven hugs the lost, They hate that Christ paid full the cost. They want credit — I got cross, They want status — I got loss. Yeah, grace offends the ones who score, Who brag they knock on Heaven’s door. They don’t need grace — they keep the lore, But Heaven don’t grade like before. You can’t impress the God who bled, You can’t perform where Jesus tread. You can’t outshine the crown He shed, You can’t out-preach the words He said. They said, “Grace too reckless, bro, You lettin’ sinners think they know.” I said, “Nah — it’s mercy’s glow, That makes the hardened spirit grow.” They said, “You soft,” I said, “Nah, bold.” Grace ain’t weak — it breaks the mold. It grabs the dead, the blind, the cold, And lights a fire that never folds. Grace don’t flatter, it offends the proud, It whispers truth while they scream loud. It humbles kings, unmasks the crowd, It breaks the false that law allowed. They say, “Obey,” I say, “He did.” They say, “Earn life,” I say, “He slid.” They say, “You’re fake,” I say, “I’m hid.” In Christ alone — that’s final bid. They want balance, I want blood, They preach drought, I preach flood. They say, “God’s wrath,” I say, “His love,” ‘Cause Calvary shouted — “Enough’s enough!” They hate grace ‘cause it don’t compete, It dethrones man — lifts up the weak. It saves the ones they call “oblique,” It makes the saints out of the meek. Grace don’t fit their system walls, It breaks traditions, redefines calls. It crowns the broken, redeems the falls, And slams religion’s gilded halls. They want order — grace wants soul, They want rules — grace wants whole. They sell heaven like it’s toll, But grace made payment, heart and goal. It’s offensive ‘cause it’s pure, It offends those who think they’re sure. It saves the liar and the poor, It opens locks they can’t secure. They hate grace ‘cause they can’t boast, It leaves no man to play the host. It gives God all — that’s why they ghost, ‘Cause grace offends their holy post. So yeah, let ‘em preach what they can’t live, Let ‘em take what they won’t give. I’m covered — yeah, that’s His, Grace don’t ask, it just forgives. And when they say, “That’s not how it works,” I’ll smile — ‘cause I’ve seen grace in quirks. It saves the saints and saves the jerks, It’s Heaven’s logic — God’s reverse.
