(Intro: Sound of waves crashing, distant, distorted chanting. A slow, melancholic, almost bluesy guitar riff begins, with a subtle, uneasy synth drone underneath.) (Verse 1) Pulled into Innsmouth, rain slick on the pane, The air hung heavy, with a fishy, death-like stain. The buildings crumbled, windows stared like dead men's eyes, A silence deep and heavy, beneath oppressive skies. I saw the locals, faces flat and strange, With bulging eyes and skin that held a scaly change. Their gait was shuffling, whispers filled the street, My heart began to pound, I felt the cold, creeping feat. (Chorus) Oh, Innsmouth! Drowned in secrets, ancient and so deep, A place where sanity struggles, and old horrors sleep. I felt the chill of ages, closing in on me, This town held something darker than the eye could see. (Verse 2) I tried to flee, to run, to leave it all behind, But shadows moved too quickly, they were of a different kind. They grabbed me, pulled me, through alleys dark and grim, Towards a place unknown, at the ocean's murky rim. Down, down we went, in tunnels carved of stone, To a cavern vast and echoing, where I was left alone. And then I saw it, lurking in the dim, faint light, A form beyond description, a cosmic, awful sight. (Pre-chorus) My mind began to shatter, my soul began to weep, This was the end, I knew it, sinking oh so deep. (Chorus) Oh, Innsmouth! Drowned in secrets, ancient and so deep, A place where sanity struggles, and old horrors sleep. I felt the chill of ages, closing in on me, This town held something darker than the eye could see. (Bridge - Music shifts slightly, becoming less overtly menacing, more… curious. Still strange, but a hint of a beat emerges.) But then it smiled, or what passed for a grin, No malice in its gaze, no evil from within. A tendril gently poked me, a gesture soft and kind, A ripple through my terror, a comfort to my mind. I looked around bewildered, as the darkness softly cleared, And saw the other horrors, the ones I always feared. There was Azathoth, pulsing, but with fairy lights aglow, And Shub-Niggurath was juggling, putting on a show! (Chorus) (Whoa!) This ain't Innsmouth dread, this is Innsmouth night! The Deep Ones are dancing, everything's alright! They caught me for a party, under cosmic light! I'm the guest of honor, what a glorious sight! (Yeah!) Azathoth's got the DJ booth, his flutes are hyping low, The Outer Gods are boogying, putting on a show! My mind is blown to pieces, but it's a happy glow, The Innsmouth folk are rocking, watch them go, go, go! (Verse 3 - Party atmosphere now fully takes over. The guitar riff is now funkier, the synth drone is a baseline, and the chanting is now a rhythmic, celebratory "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" mixed into the beat.) Yog-Sothoth's doing limbo, through a dimensional tear, Cthulhu's on the mic, singing "Do not fear!" He's got a tiny hat on, he's belting out a tune, The cultists are all cheering, by the light of a purple moon. Nyarlathotep is arm-wrestling, with a shoggoth in disguise, The Innsmouth residents are swirling, with joy in their fishy eyes. They're all just having fun, in ways I can't explain, My fear has turned to laughter, washing off like rain. (Pre-chorus) I thought I'd lose my mind, in this watery, strange place, But instead I found a party, with a smile upon my face! (Chorus - Even more energetic, more joyful, the chaos is now pure celebration.) (YEAH!) This ain't Innsmouth dread, this is Innsmouth night! The Deep Ones are dancing, everything's alright! They caught me for a party, under cosmic light! I'm the guest of honor, what a glorious sight! (Oh, yeah!) Azathoth's got the DJ booth, his flutes are hyping low, The Outer Gods are boogying, putting on a show! My mind is blown to pieces, but it's a happy glow, The Innsmouth folk are rocking, watch them go, go, go! (Outro - The party music slowly fades, leaving only the sound of gentle waves, and a happy, slightly confused chuckle. The melancholic guitar riff returns, but now it sounds wistful, perhaps even fond.) (spoken word)"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh..."
