You're Heading for the Falls
[verse 1] You’re floating down a river when from the shore, Christ calls, “Come join me on the shore, Child; you’re heading for the falls.” A raft in a flotilla, you surge toward your goal, ignoring rocks and current —the peril to your soul. [verse 2] It may be the excitement, the need to feel the rush, or maybe you feel fearless; in your own strength you trust. But strength someday will vanish, and thrills will seem a waste, when fearless thoughts are absent, and terror takes their place [bridge] Avoid the falls by listening to Jesus calming voice “Come join me on the shore, child. It really is your choice.” [Verse 3] “Come join him on the shore, child. You’re heading for the falls If you will stop to listen, You’ll hear the savior’s call He offers you a lifeline As you reach your journey’s end Jesus is your lifeguard, your savior, and your friend [verse 4] It may be the excitement, the need to feel the rush, or maybe you feel fearless; in your own strength you trust. But strength someday will vanish, and thrills will seem a waste, when fearless thoughts are absent, and terror takes their place [bridge] Avoid the falls by listening to Jesus calming voice “Come join me on the shore, child. It really is your choice.”
