Julian left Los Angeles and headed for Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. He drove for two days, passing through San Diego and Tijuana, and traveling along the entire length of Mexico's west coast with its desert landscapes. Once there, he met some wonderful people who gave him a warm welcome and offered him food and lodging. Julian was able to sing in a small square to earn a little money. ******************************************* © Copyright (2025) ******************************************* Verse 1 Ancient temples stand beneath the clouds, Big monuments rise above the crowds. The Palace of Fine Arts shows its grace, A vibrant mural covers every space. I feel history in this old air, A grand spectacle beyond compare. Chorus Colors bloom so bright now. We walk where old kings ruled. The music plays so loud now. My spirit is renewed. Verse 2 A great cathedral rings a deep sound, Market places where strange fruits abound. I walk the Reforma's long avenue, Seeing statues in the morning dew. Huge banners tell tales of the past, These moments in time seem built to last. Chorus Colors bloom so bright now. We walk where old kings ruled. The music plays so loud now. My spirit is renewed. Verse 3 The blue museum holds Frida's art, A touch of melancholy fills my part. I see canals where silent boats glide, Waterways where many flowers ride. These old traditions feel so true, A special feeling is breaking through. Chorus Colors bloom so bright now. We walk where old kings ruled. The music plays so loud now. My spirit is renewed. Verse 4 Two locals showed me their true domain, We walked through barrios, escaping the rain. We shared quick laughs and warm, simple food, A real welcome felt deep in my mood. They talked of their homes with great affection, Building with me a true connection. Chorus Colors bloom so bright now. We walk where old kings ruled. The music plays so loud now. My spirit is renewed.
