[Verse 1] Don't you hate it when you get what you want? You think at the start it's all gonna be fun But then all that you feel is the desire to run Isn't it weird when you get what you want? And it turns out it's not what you want? [Verse 2] Ain't it wild when you like what you hate? Don't it make you feel weird? Oh man It's great Isn't it wild when you like what you didn't want? Something you thought you'd hate you don't? [Chorus] When the rain looks cold but it makes you feel warm And you're waitin' on it And you're waitin' on it And you get what you need but not what you wanted And it's better than you thought it'd be It's better than you thought it'd be And it's better than you thought it'd be It's better than you thought it'd be And it's better than you thought it'd be [Verse 3] There was a time I wanted somethin' To hold me tight Then I found myself each night with a girl that didn't respect me But then I didn't know how to leave her Because I thought I needed her [Pre-Chorus] But leaving was what I really needed [Chorus] When the rain looks cold but it makes you feel warm And you're waitin' on it And you're waitin' on it And you get what you need but not what you wanted And it's better than you thought it'd be It's better than you thought it'd be And it's better than you thought it'd be [Bridge] You fall in love just when you think you're defeated Ain't it a shame when you find out you're wrong? But then you understand it's what you needed All along [Outro] It's better than you thought it'd be And it's better than you thought it'd be It's better than you thought it'd be And it's better than you thought it'd be
