I love "Nail Biter," it’s probably one of my favorites on the album. All the different parts just feel so right together. The looping sample is so good, the soulful vibe, the gospel hits, the chill bridge at the end… Parts of it remind me of Peter CottonTale’s album “CATCH,” um the airy horns at the end remind me of Bon Iver’s song “45,” it’s just all over the place and it really works for me. The lyrics are written from the perspective of my wife kind of giving me shit for biting my nails sometimes, so it’s another one that sounds kind of silly and playful then has some deeper truths that can hit harder if you let them. Like that line “I like you just the way you are, but what would it take for you to change?” is both funny and like really hard hitting depending on the way you read it. So, enjoy.
