"Attention, woodland residents..." "Winter is coming." "And one squirrel has completely lost his mind." Tick... tick... tick... CRACK! June in the treetops, the sun burning bright, A squirrel named Zippy was working all night. He gathered up acorns, he gathered up seeds, He filled seven hollows with emergency needs. A mountain of chestnuts, a warehouse of pine, He labeled each walnut: "PROPERTY MINE!" The rabbits were laughing, the fox shook his head, "That squirrel's got problems!" the woodpecker said. September came rolling, the leaves turning red, But Zippy was stacking his nuts overhead. He built an extension, then built twenty more, Till the roots started cracking beneath the forest floor. The owl said, "Buddy, you've got enough food!" He screamed, "MORE ACORNS!" in a terrible mood. He counted and counted, his eyes glowing green, The richest damn squirrel that the woods had ever seen! Then winter arrived... The branches turned white... The forest went silent... On a freezing cold night... "He must be hungry..." "He must be scared..." "He must be ready..." "READY TO (PAAAAARTY!) OPEN THE HOLLOW! SHAKE THE TREES! Berries for badgers and nuts for the bees! Throw it all out! Let the good times flow! We saved all summer just to LET IT GO! HEY! HEY! PASS IT AROUND! Bass in the branches, crumbs on the ground! No more hoarding, no more greed! EVERYBODY GETS WHAT THEY NEED! "Nut-nut... nut-nut... NUTS!" "Everybody! Everybody!" CRACK! BOOM! WOBBLE! DROP! The fox brought a turntable, the owl brought lights, The hedgehog was breakdancing through the night. A badger in sunglasses climbed on a log, While twelve little mice rode a disco-ball frog. The deer did the moonwalk, the rabbits went wild, A grumpy old boar started dancing and smiled. They feasted on chestnuts, on berries, on seeds, And nobody cared who had planted the trees! OPEN THE HOLLOW! Owl: "You do realize..." Zippy: "WHAT?" Owl: "Those supplies were meant for winter." Zippy: "I KNOW!" Owl: "And now you've given everything away." Zippy: "EXACTLY!" Owl: "But what will YOU eat tomorrow?" Zippy: "...Good question." "Hehehehe... HAHAHAHA!" BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO LIVE! BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO LIVE! "THAT'S NOT HOW THE SAYING GOES!" "NEITHER DOES THIS BASSLINE!" NUTS FOR EVERYBODY! NUTS FOR EVERYBODY! NUTS FOR EVERYBODY! EVERYBODY EATS! EVERYBODY BEATS! SHAKE THAT TREE! SET IT FREE! NO MORE MINE! JUST YOU AND ME! By morning the pantry was empty and bare, But the whole forest gathered with something to share. The rabbit brought carrots, the badger brought stew, The fox brought a blanket and hot cocoa too. And Zippy just laughed as the first sunlight grew: "I gave it all away... And got a whole forest of friends in lieu!" OPEN THE HOLLOW! SHAKE THE TREES! LET THE WHOLE FOREST FEEL THE BEAT! Throw it all out! Let the good times flow! The more that you give, the more love will grow! HEY! HEY! PASS IT AROUND! Love is the loudest thing in this town! No more hoarding, no more greed! EVERYBODY GETS WHAT THEY NEED! Owl: "So... what are you doing next summer?" Zippy: "Collecting nuts." Owl: "Oh, thank goodness." Zippy: "...for a BIGGER PARTY!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Tick... tick... tick... CRACK!
