My heavens! The elven city, Rivendell! In all my days… Such a splendid looking place! Oh, what are you doing, And where are you going? Your ponies need shoeing, The river is flowing! Oh, tra-la-la-lally Here down in the valley, ha! ha! I never thought in all my Days I’d be the company of Elves How I’d love to learn their ways And have time to browse their shelves But alas we must stay on task And keep small the favors that we ask Oh, where are you going With beards all a-wagging? No knowing, not knowing, What brings Mr. Baggins, And Ball-in and Dwall-in In June? in the valley, ha! ha! Oh, will you be staying, Or will you be flying? Your ponies are straying! The daylight is dying! To fly would be folly, To stay would be jolly. Tra-lil-lil-lil-lolly, ha! ha! Oh these halls are grand These pathways so great We’ve nothing in the Shire’s land That compares to this estate Oh, what are you doing, And where are you going? Your ponies need shoeing, The river is flowing! Oh, tra-la-la-lally Here down in the valley, ha! ha!
