[Verse] The cat’s drinking water from the tree Pine needles fall for all to see Sap sticks to the floor where we walk A forest ghost in the house It stalks [Prechorus] It’s getting dryer Dryer by the day Until the new year It will stay [Chorus] The tree’s on fire Smoke is rising higher House smells like a funeral pyre We’ll put it out I have no doubt The tree’s on fire [Verse 2] Funny smell coming from the living room Ashes scatter like a dusty bloom Grab the extinguisher from downstairs Run upstairs Tripping over chairs [Chorus] The tree’s on fire Smoke is rising higher House smells like a funeral pyre We’ll put it out I have no doubt The tree’s on fire [Bridge] Flames dance Shadows twist The holidays just went amiss Sweat dripping Panic screams This wasn’t part of Christmas dreams
