Verse 1 When the shadows fill the sky, And I can't see through the night, Still Your mercy calls my name, Still Your promise burns like flame. Every burden, every fear, Fades away when You are near. Though the winds around me rise, Hope is lifting up my eyes. Pre-Chorus I'm not who I used to be, Your amazing grace has rescued me. Chorus Higher than the storm I stand, Held forever by Your hand. Every chain has lost its claim, I'm alive because You came. Lift my voice for all to hear, There is nothing left to fear. Every heartbeat will proclaim: Jesus Christ forever reigns! Verse 2 Every valley, every climb, You have walked with me each time. When my strength has reached its end, You have always been my Friend. Now the darkness has to flee, For Your truth has set me free. Every step and every breath, Points me to eternal rest. Bridge Christ alone, my living hope, You are stronger than my soul. Christ alone, my risen King, You're the reason why I sing. Whoa-oh, whoa-oh... Your love will never let me go. Whoa-oh, whoa-oh... Your light is all I'll ever know. Final Chorus Higher than the storm I stand, Held forever by Your hand. Every nation, every tongue, Will declare what You have done. Till the trumpet fills the sky, I'll lift Jesus Christ on high. Every heartbeat will proclaim: Jesus Christ forever reigns!
