The Eternal Story!
[Verse 1] In the Vale, by the pond, Lorewalker Cho says, “Come along.” I sit down, he pours the tea, Then he says, “First, let me set the scene.” He clears his throat, pats his knee, “Back in time, before the beastie—” I nod once, just to be kind, Then he starts on chapter nine. [Pre-Chorus] “Now, there was a mountain, and a monk, and a map, And a crab with a crown, and a terrible trap…” I blink slow, I scratch my chin, Cho smiles wide and leans back in. [Chorus] Cho takes forever Cho takes forever One more tale, he says And then the tale gets bigger Cho takes forever Cho takes forever An hour or two And we’re still not finished [Verse 2] A turtle walks by, he waves hello, “Good timing, friend, you’ll love this part, though.” He names every hill, every stone, every tree, Then repeats the first bit, just to be safe for me. I ask, “Is the ending near?” He laughs, “Oh, we’re just getting clear.” The tea goes cold, my back goes sore, He says, “The middle’s where you learn the lore.” [Pre-Chorus] “Now, there was a sword, and a storm, and a feast, A jade-green jar, and a talking beast…” I whisper, “Cho, please make it brief,” He says, “That’s not how stories reach their leaf.” [Chorus] Cho takes forever Cho takes forever One more tale, he says And then the tale gets bigger Cho takes forever Cho takes forever An hour or two And we’re still not finished [Bridge] Then he says, “Wait, there’s a twist!” A second twist, and then a list Of who was there and what they wore And why the bowl was on the floor I stand up, he says, “Sit tight, This is where the plot feels right.” I leave a note, I leave a pie He’s still talking when I pass by [Final Chorus] Cho takes forever Cho takes forever One more tale, he says And then the tale gets bigger Cho takes forever Cho takes forever An hour or two And we’re still not finished (Still not finished) (Still not finished) Cho takes forever
