[Prologue] They tell you borders are written in the stone of the earth. (in the cold stone) They tell you an empire falls by the will of God, or the shift of tides. (shifting tides) Do not believe them. I worked the dispatch docks. I ran the bills of lading. I watched the world get carved up with a gold-plated pen in an oak-paneled room. No blood on the parchment. Just black ink on fresh vellum. They draw a red line through an ocean shelf. They strike a stroke across an ancient port. With the stroke of an executive seal, an ally of eighty years becomes a debtor. (becomes a target) Section by section. Statute by statute. A tariff levied like a broadaxe against the North. A maritime blockade drawn across a shallow strait. They call it leverage. (they call it statecraft) It is just extortion in a tailored suit. When you tell a free nation their soil belongs to your ledger, you do not make a partner. You do not build peace. [Outro] You build an adversary. (you build an adversary) And this is how the architecture begins. © 2026 The Shady River Bard. All rights reserved.
