[Verse] Walking down the sunshine street With a skip a hop a beat I met a lip a smile so sweet Lost my step my aching feet [Verse 2] Sun was bright my heart was light Started dance in pure delight Didn't see the curb so tight Tumbled down with all my might [Chorus] Twisted knee on sunshine promenade Had to laugh though it was quite the charade Summer days we danced and played But that twist it never swayed [Verse 3] Folks gathered round a laughing spree Helped me up so casually One young man he winked at me Said "You look fine an angel free" [Bridge] Through the pain and through the jest I knew that day I'd faced my test With sunshine bright and heart possessed Learned that love was the best [Verse] Took my hand he led the way Through sunny streets we made our play Twisted knee was no dismay For in his arms I knew I'd stay
