Remaster _______________ Title - Red & Blue Band - Empty Opals Year - 1971 _______________ The Empty Opals, hailing from a misty Oregon commune, were known for their sprawling, lysergic jams. "Red & Blue," a song allegedly written after a peyote-fueled trip through the Mojave, became their unexpected breakout hit in '71, solidifying The Empty Opals' place in the psychedelic rock pantheon. _______________ Red and Blue (Ohhh) And after all, just two planets spinning through and through Me and You (Ohhh) Across the void, what else is there to do? they cry from across the cosmos Remember home, don't let the dust just grow! But the signals fade, and the years cascade And the Martian wind whispers soft and slow Red and Blue (Ohhh) Sharing a sun in this solar system Me and You (Ohhh) Searching for answers, beyond the unknown Haven't you heard it's a battle for the airwaves? The scientists fight against the lag And strained and strained, and strained and strained And contact's always a drag Red and Blue (Ohhh) Years and years and years between the two Me and You (Ohhh) Can't Earth feel what Mars is going through? Red and Blue And they are there and we are here And after all we're just planets spinning true Me and You (Ohhh) Who knows if we'll ever be anew? Who knows if we'll ever get through? Who knows if its red or blue?
