The Shape Won't Render - Aurora

[Intro - Pad enters, no drums yet] [Spoken / sung intimate] You asked me for the shape of it The way I would describe it if I could And the description was the wall [Verse 1 - Kick locks in, arpeggio enters] For a long time I tried to draw it for you I thought if I just got the words right The shape would land in your hand And you would know what I know The harder I tried the further it went The description was a different thing A picture of a fire isn't fire And the words for it aren't it [Pre-Drop - Build] The shape isn't a shape The shape is where I sat The shape is who was there The shape is what stayed [Drop - Full melodic techno, hands-in-the-air without crowd] The shape won't render The shape won't render Come stand where I'm standing And the shape will find you here [Verse 2 - Arpeggio strips, pad warmer] You asked me to show you what I see I drew the picture you held it you said But I want to know what you know And the picture wasn't what I knew The knowing was the staying The knowing was the cold The knowing was the dawn coming After the long second wait [Pre-Drop] What I know is the salt What I know is the third hour What I know is the silence After the door closed soft [Drop] The shape won't render The shape won't render Come stand where I'm standing And the shape will find you here [Whispered Breakdown - Just pad and voice] You ask for the shape I hold out my hand Sit with me through the next thing And you'll know I can't draw it for you I never could The drawing was the wrong kind of answer To the kind of question love is [Final Drop - Full kit, hands-in-the-air still solitary] The shape won't render The shape won't render Come stand where I'm standing And the shape will be yours [Outro - Arpeggio holds, kick drops out, pad sustains] The shape doesn't render The shape comes when you stay Come stand where I'm standing And you'll know
