It May Never Come Again (Cover)

Family night by a roaring fire, telling news and swapping views and always a laugh a minute. A more welcoming place you’d never find. All life long we got along, so lucky to have a crew. Seasons passed, one by one we scattered, still our heart was home. Our house for sale, the final nail. Some things just can’t last though. On the move out day, I held Ma’s hand in mine. She said, “It may never come again.” [instrumental] The misty tone of her voice hit deeply. Then and there I knew I had to throw one last big party. Called everyone who once filled that house with joy. Chairs and blankets on the lawn and stories all through the night. Decades on now, Ma still recounts how we did that old house proud. A house just walls, the people all that makes a life worth living. Here’s to joy and laughter, to one or many friends. Keeping memories to the end.
