Do your job

The family's frustration, a community's cry For answers & for the justice that keeps passing them on by Russell County Kansas, along side where milo fields stretch wide An old skate park stands where my boy used to do kick flips & ollies with pride Colton Ross Barrera, 17 years young on the cusp of a future bright was supposed to be Dropped off there by a so called friend on that fateful night I waited to hear from him but the call never came He appeared to vanished in thin air Leaving behind for us the questions that we all should care It was foul play but labeled runaway so the truth could hide The truth remains hidden and later on it has been denied over 16 years since that day But there's no statute of limitations for a conviction of guilt that might still come come what may Some ash hole I was told had said no body so no crime So he'd feel that way if it was his mom or his child? Damn! Some people truly are such slime. The sheriff's office quickly classified him as a runaway a label contested by loved ones speaking out a tactic sent to confuse effectively it worked there is no doubt But he had no apparent reason to leave And told no one this or left a note His wallet & ID left behind a contradiction that Colton chose to leave years later I would find Potential suspects but no leads pursued despite knowledge of a romantic dispute, a 14 year old girl cheating on her 20 year old boyfriend aha the motive has been construed! The family's frustration a community's cry For answers & justice that keep passing them on by The case remains open this wound that just can't heal Colton's family holds on to the hope these murderers will someday officially be revealed The truth the answers the justice they seek For Colton Ross Barrera, the system to protect him turns out to be embarrassingly weak Come on law men do your job and arrest those who did Colton wrong but then again you guys would have to arrest yourselves ooh that would make for an interesting song!

Curious: the last two lines, are those implying wrongdoing in the context of complacency or direct involvement in Colton's disappearance?

Both. For the longest time I thought they weren't good at their jobs only to find out they actively mislead me . I tried to type how but suno centered the conversation as I had to use no no words.
