[Verse 1] They call him 12 First name on the block He learned young how to run When the whole world slapped From the gangs to the war He kept carrying scars Heavy nights on his back Still he made it this far [Pre-Chorus] Lost his father, lost his son Heart split, still he breathes Broken vows, broken doors Still he bends, never leaves Every hit tried to drown him Every tear knew his name But the fire in his chest Would not give way [Chorus] 12, still standing tall 12, he would not fall 12, through it all He kept his faith, kept his call (12, still standing) (12, still standing) Today he sings out loud God brought him through it all [Verse 2] Some days the mind got wild Some days the bed felt cold Some days he stared at the wall And his hands felt old But he got up with the dawn Even when dawn felt slow Put one foot in front Then another to go [Pre-Chorus] Lost his father, lost his son Heart split, still he breathes Broken vows, broken doors Still he bends, never leaves Every hit tried to drown him Every tear knew his name But the fire in his chest Would not give way [Chorus] 12, still standing tall 12, he would not fall 12, through it all He kept his faith, kept his call (12, still standing) (12, still standing) Today he sings out loud God brought him through it all [Bridge] He wore the storm like a coat He wore the night like steel Took the pain, took the blow But it never broke his will Now the table's set wide Now the shame has to go What the world tried to bury God made grow [Final Chorus] 12, still standing tall 12, he would not fall 12, through it all He kept his faith, kept his call (12, still standing) (12, still standing) Today he sings out loud God brought him through it all 12, still standing tall 12, he would not fall His name is 12 And he rose through it all Today we Celebrate! Today we Celebrate! Today we Celebrate!
