V5.5

(Chorus)
Baldwin, Baldwin, the Leper King,
Your faith was stronger than the sting,
Through battle’s fire and kingdom’s strife,
You lived for God, you gave your life.
With sword in hand, and eyes so clear,
You ruled in love, you ruled in fear.

As Saladin’s armies gathered near,
The people trembled, gripped by fear,
But Baldwin rose, though sick and frail,
His spirit strong, he would not fail.
In every war, in every fight,
He bore his cross and stood for right.
Through pain and loss, his strength endured,
For in God’s grace, his heart was cured.

(Bridge)
At Montgisard, the battle turned,
Where Baldwin’s name in glory burned,
Though weak in flesh, he rode with grace,
And led his knights to win the race.
Against the odds, his faith was flame,
Defying death in Jesus’ name.
No earthly king could match his will,
For Baldwin’s heart was stronger still.

His crown was heavy, worn with pain,
Yet through it all, his faith remained,
A beacon bright for all to see,
Of God’s eternal sovereignty.
Though leprosy consumed his frame,
His soul soared high in Heaven’s name.

(Outro)
Now in the halls of Heaven bright,
Baldwin reigns in holy light,
No sickness there, no pain, no tear,
Just endless peace for one so dear.
The Leper King, forever crowned,
In Christ’s embrace, his joy is found.

In Jerusalem, the city bright, A child was born to rule with might, But in his veins, a curse did flow, A test of faith he’d come to know. Baldwin, chosen by God’s decree, A king who’d fight yet never flee, With leper’s scars upon his hand, He’d stand as king of holy land. (Chorus) Baldwin, Baldwin, the Leper King, Your faith was stronger than the sting, Through battle’s fire and kingdom’s strife, You lived for God, you gave your life.
