Hidden Place

[Hook] How did we say Your name And miss Your heart? Hands went up But we hid the dark We wore Your name And blurred Your face Lord, make us true In the hidden place [Verse 1] We passed by mercy On our way to bring You praise Sang like we knew You Then left the same Said all the right words Knew the right sound Called You Lord But kept You out [Hook] How did we say Your name And miss Your heart? Hands went up But we hid the dark We wore Your name And blurred Your face Lord, make us true In the hidden place [Verse 2] Mountains heard it Stones cried out We brought songs With mercy left out Knew the verse Missed the weight Talked about mercy Then withheld grace Carried Your name But lost Your heart Called it devotion With mercy left out [Hook] How did we say Your name And miss Your heart? Hands went up But we hid the dark We wore Your name And blurred Your face Lord, make us true In the hidden place [Bridge] You are not the God We can edit down You already spoke And You don’t bow You told us What is good Mercy, justice Humble love [Climax] Change us, Lord Change us, Lord Till our hearts Look like Yours Make us true Make us Yours Let our lives tell Who You are [Final Hook] How did we say Your name And miss Your heart? Hands went up But we hid the dark We wore Your name And blurred Your face Lord, make us true In the hidden place [Rap Outro: low, restrained male voice] No more borrowed lines No more holy noise No more saying Lord While we keep our choice Put the truth in us Where the crowd can’t see Let the hidden place Be the first thing clean If we carry Your name Let us carry Your heart With mercy in our hands And no more hiding in the dark [Soft Hook Tag] Lord, make us true In the hidden place
