[Verse 1] Some folks linger where the shadows creep countin' all their troubles 'stead of countin' sheep but I'll take the high road where the larks alight and I'll greet the day in the mornin' light [Chorus] Walk toward the mornin' light, leave the dark behind there's a brighter mornin' for the worried mind the storm may break and the cold winds bite but I'll keep my face to the mornin' light [Verse 2] I have lost my money and I've lost my way I have buried good people in the cold hard clay but the sun comes up just the same each morn and a brand new hope in my heart is born [Chorus] Walk toward the mornin' light, leave the dark behind there's a brighter mornin' for the worried mind the storm may break and the cold winds bite but I'll keep my face to the mornin' light [Banjo Break] [Verse 3] So when the night is darkest and you can't go on just hold to the promise of the comin' dawn keep your lamp a-burnin' and your collar tight and walk on UP to the mornin' light [Final Chorus] Walk toward the mornin' light, leave the dark behind there's a brighter mornin' for the worried mind the storm may break and the cold winds bite but I'll keep my face to the mornin' light [Outro] but I'll keep my face to the mornin' light
