Little Boy

Fast my sun is rolling down to sunset now, Lighting up my roads so dirty, grim and weary, Those I've walked along with such a heavy strain, While the bright ones long forgot my name, I fear me. Wish that I could be a little boy again, Just to paint the things that should await us later, I would paint it all, and nothing bad or dark Could ever happen to us from a cruel creator. The world would change its view, I would be alive too. I wouldn’t draw the tanks or the explosions, They will teach me that a little later, cruelly. I would draw a sun, so giant in the sky, So a tiny ray would reach everyone, truly. Let me be that little boy just once again, Just to paint the things that should await us later, I would save you all from agony and fear That twist our faces like a ruthless, cold dictator. The world would change its view, I would be alive too. Children always paint an eternal summer, I don't wanna grow up tall. An eternal summer, I believe the children, I don't wanna grow up at all. Tangled up in greatcoats, dying in our camo-skins, We fill the world with mourning colors only, crying. If you didn't know what hatred really means, You would never shoot at me and leave me dying. Let me be a little boy just once again, Just to paint the things that should await us later, I would paint and paint, without a single rest, To soften up our faces, make the mercy greater. Children always paint an eternal summer, I don't wanna grow up tall. An eternal summer, I believe the children, I don't wanna grow up at all.
