The fire was small, but the night felt wide and you moved a little closer in like you were only getting warm like I wasn’t noticing I kept my eyes on the smoldering flame while your hand stayed open near mine and all that summer heat between us started crossing every line Brighter. Hotter. Bolder. This is how we know Trying not to show Baby, we’re glowing Too young to notice Just you and me in this bonfire love You leaned into the firelight and the dark fell back a little I was trying to take it slow but my breath kept getting tangled Nothing happened all at once but nothing stayed the same your hand moved over mine and I forgot how to wait Brighter. Hotter. Bolder. This is how we know Standing way too close Baby, we’re glowing Too young to notice Just you and me in this bonfire love We were holding out, holding out while the heat got bolder Trying not to move too fast with nowhere left to go We were holding on, holding on but the night came in closer and every little breath we took burned through our control This is how we know Trying not to show Baby, we’re glowing Too young to notice Just you and me in this bonfire love This is how we know (This is how we know) Standing way too close Baby, we’re glowing Too young to know it Just you and me in this bonfire love
