[Title: You Tell Me, Butterfly] [Verse 1] You tell me, butterfly, When is the right time to fly? The sky looks different from the ground, And I can’t see what you see now. I don’t know what came before— What storm, what light, what closing door. I’m not here assigning blame For seasons to stay and seasons of change. [Chorus] If it’s time, then open wide. Let the morning meet your wings. If you need another night, Rest beneath the heavy leaves. I will love you either way— In the staying, in the change. You tell me, butterfly, When is the right time to fly? [Verse 2] I used to think that letting go Meant something in me had to close. But love can stand beneath a tree And bless the wings it cannot keep. You don’t owe me a reason why; I know the wind can change its mind. If you circle back, I’ll wave. If you don’t, I’ll wish you safe. [Bridge] And if you’re asking me to choose, I can only speak from here: I want the world to open up for you. I’ll miss you. Both things can be true. [Final Chorus] If it’s time, then open wide. Let the morning meet your wings. If you need another night, Rest beneath the heavy leaves. I will love you either way— In the staying, in the change. You tell me, butterfly, When is the right time to fly? [Outro] You tell me, butterfly.
