[Spoken Poem] I could blabber into my own oblivion Straight yap into the void for days Take credit for tanking my own Experian And still blame the devil for all my ways Defeated entity but I'm the victim? Free will being but I'm a slave? Proud Black Spartan but still a nicca? Yep, still blame the devil for all my ways Accountability?, can't even spell dat Mane! you no better than a (aye!) Boost heavenly chariots to burn rubber in Hellcats But oh yeah blame the devil for my ways See I had time to think on MY ways (oh lord) Guardian angel said "now don't tell lies" I took a minute to choose what words to say And brought tears to a mother's eyes Her knees weary from praying heavily Fingers grip her chest and KJV Just when I thought there wont no savin me I blamed THIS devil for all my deeds [Female] "Boy now you betta hush now dont you know you God given and gifted? I'm fittin ta wear out dat hellish hyde Dont chu run and hide Go out and get the switch" Mama was never one to spare the rod As Mama lifted her hands to strike sins away She instead gently rested them on my chest and face Strange tears in her eyes wondering what made me this way Now being a Grandmother to mercy and grace But Me still feelin like its not my place - to tell my truth Flinching from a history of abuse But "I AM A MAN" i declared That Painted sign hangs on me square Got the Tools now for learning, ya see? but still got dried blood stains on me but I no longer fear the ones who made me shrink No Not one fear of man But I still fear the one who made everything So yeah I chucked stones at bones who paved the way Flipped pennies in wells but stole pocket change screamed notes when I knew I had no range sunk boats when coasts were miles away I was a devilish child what can I say so at the end of the day I still blame the devil for all my ways Lew
