But the glass on the frame had a stubborn glare. All I could see was the heat in my eyes... ...and my own cold face staring back right there. I had my angry speech all polished and clean... ...rationally bulletproof, or so it seemed. But a portrait's never just the surface light. Sometimes you've got to change the angle... ...to get the exposure right. So I slowly turn the polarizer ring... To cut the glare of my own reflection. Yeah, I turn the lens and the glass goes clear... And suddenly I see your direction. There’s a whole different room behind the shine. (Behind the shine...) And it looks... nothing like mine. Maybe your sky was washed out in gray. Maybe your contrast was set too high that day. I was so busy focusing on my own lens... I forgot that you were trying to adjust yours too. (Adjust yours too...) But a portrait's never just the surface light. Next time the shutter clicks... I’ll breathe before I shoot. I won't just judge the shadows... ...on the path we're walking through. (Breathe first...) So I slowly turn the polarizer ring... To cut the glare of my own reflection. Yeah, I turn the lens and the glass goes clear... And suddenly I see your direction. There’s a whole different room behind the shine. (Behind the shine...) And it looks... nothing like mine. (No, nothing like mine...) Just a little spin of the glass. And the anger is gone. (Mmm...) Nice photo.
