Taste and See (He Heard My Cry) (Inspired by Psalm 34) (Less Steel Guitar Cover)

[Verse 1] I was broken and weary, the night all around, But I lifted my voice and He heard that sound. From the valley of fear, He delivered me, Now my heart keeps singin’, He set me free. [Chorus] Taste and see that the Lord is good, Blessed is the soul who trusts as he should. Lift your eyes, let His praises rise— Taste and see, taste and see that the Lord is good. [Verse 2] When the humble cry out, His mercy is near, And His angel encamps where the righteous appear. He rescues the broken, redeems every wrong, Turns mourning to laughter, and sorrow to song. [Chorus] Taste and see that the Lord is good, Blessed is the soul who trusts as he should. Lift your eyes, let His praises rise— Taste and see, taste and see that the Lord is good. [Bridge] The Lord is close to the crushed in heart, He saves the soul torn apart. Though troubles surround on every side, Not one of His promises dies. [Verse 3] Come, children, and listen, I’ll teach you His ways, Keep your tongue from evil, your heart in His praise. Depart from the shadows, seek peace and pursue, The eyes of the Lord will be watching over you. [Final Chorus / Tag] Taste and see that the Lord is good, Oh, He’s been faithful, just as He said He would. From my first breath to eternity, Taste and see—He heard my cry for me! Taste and see… the Lord is good.
