Counting on HIM

Verse 1 The world is trying to shut me down, and silence my voice Because they only want to hear the echoes in their minds They don't know the Father or the Son Those who scoff and say, "Where is your God?" But I'm going to my Father above Though they ask with scorn, "Where is your Father?" "Where is your Lord?" Verse 2 The Spirit within me, a beacon of light, Guiding my steps, even in the darkest night He'll open my eyes to the truth they deny He'll reveal the lies, the secrets they hide The prince of this world, defeated and condemned By Jesus Christ's act of love, his reign has ended Chorus Counting on the Spirit, the Advocate, the Guide, Sent from the Father, he will abide. Though I go where you cannot see, He's watching over you, and I am counting on you. Bridge The Spirit of Truth, will lend a helping hand He'll guide you, speak truth, reveal God's plan He'll glorify me, with every word He'll speak All that the Father has belongs to me That's why the Spirit speaks, the truth you'll receive Chorus Counting on the Spirit, the Advocate, the Guide, Sent from the Father, he will abide. Though I go where you cannot see, He's watching over you, and I am counting on you. Outro Do not fear; I will not leave you alone, The Spirit will come and make you my own. He will guide you, teach you, and set you free, Counting on the Spirit, you will be counting on me. (Instrumental) Outro Do not fear; I will not leave you alone, The Spirit will come and make you my own. He will guide you, teach you, and set you free, Counting on the Spirit, you will be counting on me. Amen!
