You say you fear the Lord completely, but you're scared to lose the crowd You'll water down conviction, just to keep your platform loud Enough to stay relevant, just to keep the numbers climbing You call it wisdom, call it strategy, but I call it timing The actual truth for when it's easy, silencing it when it's not And I'm asking, is that fearing God, or fearing what you've got To lose here, the applause, the platform, the affirmation And to the skeptic also, when you're scared of isolation From your own social circle, scared to voice a real dissent From the group opinion around you, scared of what would get bent Out of shape if you disagreed here, scared of losing your own tribe Both of you are fearing man, both of you would rather hide Your own real convictions, behind the safety of the crowd And I'm asking, is that freedom, is that living free and proud Of what you actually believe, or a performance for approval And I already caught myself here, watering down for the removal Of any real discomfort, any real risk of rejection And I had to face that fear, had to face the actual reflection Of a man more scared of critics, than he was scared of his own Maker And I'm asking, could you name that, could you be an actual partaker In the actual courage required, to speak the truth regardless Of the actual social cost, of the actual real, hard, harness You'd have to wear to say it, and I'm asking, could you bear The actual loss of comfort, could you speak the actual real prayer Of your own true conviction, even when the room goes cold Even when the crowd disperses, even when you're standing bold Alone in your position, and I'm asking every voice Fearing man more than the Maker, have you made the actual choice To finally speak regardless, of the actual, real cost it brings And I already made that choice here, and I've felt the actual stings Of losing friends and platforms, but I'd rather stand alone With the truth intact inside me, than sit safely on a throne Built from compromise and silence, and I'm asking, could you trade The comfort of the crowd's approval, for the actual truth you've made Peace with in your own spirit, even when it costs you dear And I already learned that fearing God, means the actual crowd's cheer Doesn't matter near as much, as the actual, real integrity Of standing in your own conviction, and I'm asking, could you see That the fear of man's a prison, dressed up like it's community And the fear of God is freedom, dressed up like it's unity With something bigger than yourself, and I'm asking, which one's driving Your own daily choices, and I'm asking, are you thriving In your own authentic voice, or performing for the applause You fear man more than God here, and I'm asking, what's the cause
