[Verse 1] Red cup, cold lake Sunburn on your nose Gas station sparklers Stuffed in paper bows Your hand in mine By the folding chair You say, "Stay close" Like I wasn't there [Pre-Chorus] When the sky starts shaking And the whole town looks up I keep on waiting For that first big rush [Chorus] July 4 fireworks Baby, that's our spark July 4 fireworks Burning in the dark One sweet match And the whole night starts July 4 fireworks Baby, that's our spark [Verse 2] Kids in wet grass Running with a grin Coolers on the tailgate Moonshine in a tin You lean in laughing At the first loud boom My heart goes flying Right before the moon [Pre-Chorus] When the sky starts shaking And the whole town looks up I keep on waiting For that first big rush [Chorus] July 4 fireworks Baby, that's our spark July 4 fireworks Burning in the dark One sweet match And the whole night starts July 4 fireworks Baby, that's our spark [Bridge] Hold me tight While the colors break One more kiss And the ground might shake (hold me tight) Don't let go Till the last one fades [Final Chorus] July 4 fireworks Baby, that's our spark July 4 fireworks Burning in the dark One sweet match And the whole night starts July 4 fireworks Baby, that's our spark
