The First Fire

[Verse] In the hollow of the stone Where shadows lean A spark was born Unseen Unseen The breath of the mountain whispered low Told of embers Told of glow [Chorus] The first fire It burns It calls Through the ages Through the walls Circle of the stars Wheel of the ground The first fire Where life is bound [Verse 2] A river sang of the dawn The wild earth cried Branches reached where the heavens hide Skin and ash The dance began Fingers traced the lines of man [Prechorus] The smoke It rose It spoke of then It spoke of now And spoke again [Chorus] The first fire It burns It calls Through the ages Through the walls Circle of the stars Wheel of the ground The first fire Where life is bound [Bridge] Stone on stone The rhythm churns Through the dark The cosmos turns Every flicker Every flame Carries whispers of the name
