After the Rain Verse 1 The storm has finally run its course The heavy sky gives up its force A sudden quiet settles down Across the pavement of the town The dust is washed from every street The air is sharp, and cool, and sweet A single sparrow takes to flight Into the clean, unfolding light Chorus And after the rain, the shadows clear The weight we carried disappears The world is breathing, fresh and new The grass is bright with drops of dew What was broken starts to mend Every storm must find its end We step outside and breathe again After the rain Verse 2 The puddles mirror back the blue As golden sunbeams filter through The trees are dripping on the ground A soft and rhythmic, healing sound No more hiding from the dark The sun has left a brand new mark We leave the shelter of the door Not afraid of clouds anymore Chorus 'Cause after the rain, the shadows clear The weight we carried disappears The world is breathing, fresh and new The grass is bright with drops of dew What was broken starts to mend Every storm must find its end We step outside and breathe again After the rain Bridge It felt like it would pour forevermore With thunder knocking at the door But look at how the garden grows The brightest bloom, the greenest rose The sky is wide, the air is deep The promises we get to keep Guitar Solo / Instrumental Break Chorus And after the rain, the shadows clear The weight we carried disappears The world is breathing, fresh and new The grass is bright with drops of dew What was broken starts to mend Every storm must find its end We step outside and breathe again After the rain Outro Just look at the light... Everything is clean tonight. The sky is wide. The air is deep. After the rain. It’s over now. After the rain.
