[Verse] Once upon a time there was a rose With petals bright and thorns that froze In a garden wild where nothing grows She stood alone against the blows [Verse 2] There was a kite up in the sky Flying free though it don't know why With every gust it's up so high Then tumbles down but dreams to fly [Chorus] Oh we’re stories waiting to be told With hearts and dreams so brave and bold Every scar a tale of gold Once upon a time we broke the mold [Bridge] A clock that’s lost its sense of time Ticking backward in a dance unkind But every beat is our own rhyme We’re the masters of the climb [Verse 3] In a city where the shadows roam A girl with ink wrote all alone Her words became a mighty home A kingdom crafted from her own [Chorus] Oh we’re stories waiting to be told With hearts and dreams so brave and bold Every scar a tale of gold Once upon a time we broke the mold
