The Visitor From The Sands

V5

[Pre-Chorus] They say he appeared at the nile at dawns early light Through the warming dunes as Amun Ra's eye rose high Desert plants and blooms sprouted where he would stand and the Camels bowed in recognition as songbirds flew ahead to announce him [Chorus] Who was this strange visitor? A god, a hero or something weirder? From whence did he come and to whence did he go? Only the dunes at giza know. [Verse 1] Onward strode the visitor Golden skinned, silver haired and fair Carrying himself with a regal presence and saintly air He strode past and we instinctively took knee and bowed our heads in awe We knew not who he was but we knew divinity when we saw. [Chorus] Who was this strange visitor? A god, a hero or something weirder? From whence did he come and to whence did he go? Only the dunes at giza know. [Verse 2] The visitor stopped to look us over a short while with his fierce gaze and gentle smile then walked away His stride bound towards giza and the pharoahs palace gates He had a ruler to seek and a battle to win You see the pharoah had a sickness within Something dark and twisted and not quite human [Chorus] Who was this strange visitor? A god, a hero or something weirder? From whence did he come and to whence did he go? Only the dunes at giza know. [Verse 3] On sight all knew who he was as the visitor appeared at the palace gates The priests all bowed, the guards opened the way and the nobility resigned to their fates. [Chorus] Who was this strange visitor? A god, a hero or something wierder? From whence did he come and to whence did he go? Only the dunes at giza know. [Verse 4] The pharoah however sat upon his golden throne, fanned by servants with a sharp tooth grin and eyes aglow A gnarled rod in hand topped with blackened gem on its end and When the pharoah saw the visitor he snarled and hissed at him and As he raised his rod the torches snuffed and the room darkened, [Chorus] Who was this strange visitor? A god, a hero or something weirder? From whence did he come and to whence did he go? Only the dunes at giza know. [Verse 5] The gloom was broken by bright flashes monstrous roars and thunderous booms as the sounds of sorcery and battle resounded around the shadowed room and none watching could comprehend or infer what sort of battle of gods was being fought by the visitor within. [Chorus] Who was this strange visitor? A god, a hero or something weirder? From whence did he come and to whence did he go? Only the dunes at giza know. [Verse 6] Then suddenly the torches lit with golden glow alight signally a victor and end to the fight Near the throne stood the visitor with his gentle smile and fierce eyes unharmed and unsullied after the fight perched high and wreathed in light He stood triumphant perched high atop the hulking corpse of a massive blood red croc The pharoahs headress, a tiny shiny speck on its scaled head as The ghastly creature twitched and gurgled as it lie there dead. [Verse 7] The visitor sheathed his shining weapon, its light snuffed like a flame as he silently departed the land to wence he came beyond the golden sands as Amun's eye set beyond the faintly glowing horizon [Chorus] Who was this strange visitor? A god, a hero or something weirder? From whence did he come and to whence did he go? Only the dunes at giza know.
