[Intro – Spoken, Deep Male Voice] My name is Meier. I have a problem. Actually… I have several problems. But they are very complicated. And therefore… They must be important. [Verse 1] I bought a clock without a time I paid in cash, I paid in crime The man said, “Sir, you need a key” I said, “The key belongs to me!” I took the train, I missed the track I sent a letter to myself It came back stamped: “Address unknown” I think I'm famous on my own [Pre-Chorus] One plus one is three today The other two have gone away I made a plan, I made it twice I sold the plan for half the price [Chorus] Complexity for eternity! A little bit of nothing is the key Complexity for eternity! The more I know, the less I see Complication, calculation No solution, no salvation Complexity for eternity! Meier knows… theoretically! [Verse 2] I bought a map of outer space It showed my kitchen, not the place I asked the stars to guide me home They said, “Dear sir, you're on your own!” My suitcase has a secret code It opens up the wrong postcode I dialed the number 42 A voice said, “Who the hell are you?” [Pre-Chorus] I need a system, I need a chart A complicated work of art I push the button, lights turn red The machine says, “Go to bed!” [Chorus] Complexity for eternity! A little bit of nothing is the key Complexity for eternity! The more I know, the less I see Complication, calculation No solution, no salvation Complexity for eternity! Meier knows… theoretically! [Bridge – Spoken, Deadpan] I have finally solved the mystery. There are three possible explanations. Number one… I am right. Number two… Everybody else is wrong. And number three… I have forgotten what the question was. This is progress. [Verse 3] I built a house without a door I built another, built one more I hired seven clever men They couldn't find the entrance then I wrote a book about success It has no words, but costs much less The publisher was very pleased He said, “Your silence sells with ease!” [Breakdown – Spoken] Too much information. Not enough intelligence. Perfect conditions. For another experiment. Meier… Proceed. [Final Chorus] Complexity for eternity! A little bit of nothing is the key Complexity for eternity! The more I know, the less I see Complication, calculation Universal miscalculation Complexity for eternity! Meier is the missing piece! Complexity! Complexity! A complicated destiny! Complexity! Complexity! Please explain it all to me! [Outro – Spoken, Deep Male Voice] I understand everything now. Everything is connected. The clock… The suitcase… The universe… And the bathroom light. Especially the bathroom light. Pause. I forgot to pay the electricity bill. Good night.
