Behind the stone walls where the high mountains rise Thorsec hunted beneath the cold hawk skies He carried the day through the pine and snow Thorsec, young heart with a long way to go Then the trail fell down to the saltwater shore And a city of fire opened every door Thorsec, Thorsec, hear the sea call your name Thorsec, Thorsec, love was born in the flame When Ingrid came turning where the bright embers flew The hard world grew gentle when she danced into view Her face was half-hidden by firelight and smoke A raven-haired wonder in red wool cloak Thorsec watched silent, his hands clenched tight While Ingrid spun gold through the blue-black night She saw his brave silence, he saw her bright eyes Two storm-forged spirits beneath northern skies Thorsec, Thorsec, hear the sea call your name Thorsec, Thorsec, love was born in the flame When Ingrid came turning where the bright embers flew The hard world grew gentle when she danced into view Ingrid, shield-maiden, stood close at his side Thorsec took her hand and faced the tide They crossed dark waters with a fearless oar And returned with the dawn to their mountain shore They fought for their bread in a cruel, hungry land With a blade in his fist and her shield in her hand Thorsec, Thorsec, never yielded his ground Ingrid beside him, no fear could be found Thorsec, Thorsec, through the iron and rain Thorsec, Thorsec, love outlasted the pain Their daughters grew strong in the halls of the brave Nikki chose her horizon, Sandi chose her wave Nikki took northward roads, Sandi sailed west Both carried their mother’s courage in their chest They followed their paths, yet the hearth stayed bright For Thorsec and Ingrid still laughed every night Thorsec, Thorsec, with frost in his hair Ingrid still reaches and finds him there A hundred years promised, a hundred years true The sea may rage, but their love carries through Thorsec, Thorsec, let the old horns proclaim Thorsec, Thorsec, Ingrid answers your name From mountain-walled mornings to shores washed in blue Thorsec and Ingrid, the world bowed to you Thorsec, my Thorsec, the fire burns strong Thorsec, my Thorsec, wherever you go With Ingrid beside you, through all that is done One hundred years bound, two hearts beating as one
