preserve me god for in you i trust i say to you my lord apart from you i possess no good no treasure or reward as for the saints within the earth the excellent and true they are the ones my heart delights in all they do for you o lord you are my portion the sorrows of the faithless ones will surely multiply who chase the idols of this world and believe the serpent's lie i will not pour their offerings out of blood and vanity nor will i take their names upon the lips you gave to me o lord you are my portion my cup and my reward you hold my lot securely within your sovereign word the boundary lines have fallen in places fair and sweet a beautiful inheritance is laid before my feet i bless the lord who counsels me even in the darkest night my inmost thoughts instruct me there to walk within the light i set the lord before me he is at my right hand because he stands beside me unshaken i will stand therefore my heart is glad my tongue rejoices deep my body rests secure in hope before i fall asleep for you will not abandon my soul unto the grave nor let your holy one decay whom you have pledged to save o lord you are my portion my cup and my reward you hold my lot securely within your sovereign word the boundary lines have fallen in places fair and sweet a beautiful inheritance is laid before my feet o lord you are my portion my cup and my reward you hold my lot securely within your sovereign word the boundary lines have fallen in places fair and sweet a beautiful inheritance is laid before my feet you make known the path of life where death has lost its sting in your presence is fullness of joy eternal pleasures spring at your right hand are pleasures forevermore to be the risen king has won the day and secured the victory
