Same old road beneath my shoes, Chasing dreams I couldn’t lose. Future bright with plans to chase, But every promise starts to break. Will we ever learn, or just pretend? Do our steps lead forward, or back again? People don’t change, they just walk in circles, Round and round on a painted floor. They talk of freedom, they dream of what's pure, Then trace the same steps as before. Words wear thin, the colors fade, Truth gets lost in the mess we made. I’ve seen the brave grow tired and cold, Still calling that routine “getting old.” Can we catch the truth before it fades? Do our hearts repeat the same old ways? People don’t change, they just walk in circles, Round and round with a smile that’s worn. They talk of truth, they dream of mercy, Then trace the same steps as before. Maybe time is a wheel, not a line to run, And every lesson learned just weighs a ton. We call it growing when it’s really return, The same old spark we never earn. Still I walk on, slow but free, No more pretending how it should be. If love’s a fire, I’ll take the burn, It's circles where we always turn. Have we learned the cost of time’s wheel? Or do we chase what we can’t feel? People don’t change, they just walk in circles, Dreams still whisper, hearts still sore. They talk of love, they dream of heaven, And end up where they were before. Round and round... Same old song... People don’t change... They just roll along...
