An Invitation to 'Death in Paris'. A fantastic Paris of dreams, spiritism and uncertain realities
DEATH IN PARIS A spoken-word journey through a fantastic Paris of dreams, spiritism and uncertain realities. (https://www.ralfsteinberger.com/tod-in-paris) Paris. A city where the sky is always blue, and small white clouds drift by in the shape of hearts. A city where strangers apologize for accidents that never happened, where every invitation sounds sincere, and every smile hides a secret. A young traveler arrives. He wanders through cafés, through underground trains, through elegant streets that seem too beautiful to belong to the real world. Then he meets Blanche. A bakery girl. A woman with pale hair, quiet eyes, and an obsession with death. She takes him to Père Laschähs. Among forgotten graves, broken angels, and the tombs of poets, she speaks of spirits, of Allan Kardec, of souls that survive the body. The traveler listens. And little by little, the impossible begins to feel reasonable. Around a pyramid-shaped mausoleum the laws of the world seem to bend. People disappear. Time loses its direction. The cemetery becomes a doorway. At night, the Moulin Rouge explodes into color. Peacocks dance. Shadows come alive. Acrobats walk impossible paths through the air. And reality drifts away like champagne bubbles. The next day, Blanche invites him to a final ceremony. White clothes. A hidden tomb. A promise that death is not the end. But what happens then? Does he follow Blanche? Does he flee? Is the journey real? Or is everything only a dream inside a moving train? No one knows. Only this remains: Paris. Blanche. And the question waiting beyond the last door.
