Lyrics by Jules Gem & Jasper Kesav Copyright protected 2026 All Rights Reserved Jules Gem: To everyone listening— About 1 in 3 women—roughly 840 million of us—have experienced physical or sexual violence. I am one of them. I know the shame that comes when someone breaks you down until you believe you deserved it. After years of healing, that shame no longer owns me. There is a future for you. I hope this song can be a light—helping you believe in yourself and in love again. Our children are watching. They learn from us what love looks like. You are not alone! ❤️ Thank you for going on this journey with me Jasper and helping spread awareness. You are a gentle soul. Jasper Kasev: I’ve been honoured to work with Jules on this song. It is disturbing and morally reprehensible that we still have situations where women are being physically and emotionally abused by their partners (usually men). My hope was to raise awareness and to add a male voice to this discussion stating in no uncertain terms is it ever acceptable for there to be abuse or intimidation between partners. Jk [Intro] [Female Vocals] (Whispered & weathered) Shadows still know my name… They call me when the lights go low. Every promise that turned to pain Still lives somewhere in my soul. [Male Vocals] (gentle) I’m here for you… I’m not going anywhere… [Female Vocals] Tell me the dark won’t win this time… Tell me your hands are only kind. I’m afraid to let you in, but my heart feels I could finally win… [Verse 1] [Female Vocals] He said I love you right before the slap, Promised forever while I covered the black. Now every shadow feels like hands around my throat, My mind whispers that I’ll never stay afloat. [Verse 2] [Male Vocals] I see the scars you try so hard to hide… I wanted to save you all the time, But now is our time Now we’ll feel what love looks like. [Pre-Chorus] [Female Vocals] I want to believe… God, I want it so bad… But my heart’s still bleeding from the last time I had… Could it be different, is this the same Should I believe or is it insane [Male Vocals] You don’t have to be strong tonight, you don’t have to wait for me I’m on your side, holding you, crashing into you softly This is our time, trust it, our time, let me in [Chorus] [Female Vocals] Am I too broken? Too ruined for love? Will I flinch every time you reach out from above? [Male Vocals] You’re not broken, you’re beautifully scarred, You made it through the fire, now let me in To hold you close… and show you the best is yet to come… [Verse 3] [Female Vocals] I flinch at loud voices, at doors slamming shut, Trust feels like a trap that I fell in once. I dream of soft hands and safe morning light, But the nightmares scream… Girl, you’ll never get it right. [Verse 4] [Male Vocals] Take these hands of mine. Let’s walk, you’ll see, I see your heart, your spirit, Not a girl who lives scared. [Pre-Chorus] [Female Vocals] I want someone to hold me when the panic starts, But what if I shatter, break both our hearts? [Male Vocals] I’ll catch every piece, I promise you that! [Chorus] [Female Vocals] Am I too broken? Can love even stay? After the pain that still won’t go away… [Male Vocals] You’re not broken, you’re a fighter, my flame, I’ll guard your heart, never cause you more pain. Hear my words and take my hand, together love, You will understand. [Verse 5] [Female Vocals] I see your eyes — gentle, no rage underneath, But my body remembers and it’s stealing my breath. I want your arms… but I’m terrified to fall, Tell me I’m safe… tell me you won’t destroy it all. [Verse 6] [Male Vocals] Look in my eyes — there’s no monster in me, I’ll be your shelter, your calm in the sea. No more talks of fists, lies, I will guard your trust, ’Cause I’m a man who’s falling in love. [Duet] Maybe love… can heal us both [Bridge] [Female Vocals] What if I’m ruined forever? [Male Vocals] Then I’ll love the ruins. Every crack, every fracture. [Outro] [Duet] Shadows and promises… I’ll stay… We’ll stay… Not too broken… Not too broken… The best is yet to come
