The Shattering of Olxyos

V5

(Verse 1) The Rift is a canyon of liquid fire, As the tectonic plates rise higher and higher. Olxyos stands in the steam and the smoke, His voice a rattle, his spirit a choke. He swings the Obsidian Hammer with might, To crush the flicker of Enloydom’s light. But the King is a ghost, a shadow of frost, Reclaiming the world that the giants have lost! (Pre-Chorus) Clash of the elements! Hammer and Blade! In the middle of the furnace, the ending is made! (Chorus) The Shattering! The breaking of stone! The King of the surface reclaimed his throne! Against the Nephilim, against the deep, The promise of winter he finally shall keep! (Verse 2) The "True Ice" explodes in a shockwave of blue, Freezing the giant and cutting him through. Olxyos freezes—a statue of slate— Locked in a pose of anger and hate. Then with a roar and a swing of the hand, Erik shatters the giant, the lord of the land! The Warlord is dust, the Warlord is gone, Scattered in pieces before the new dawn! (Bridge) (The music stops—only the sound of the crumbling machine remains) But the Core-Key is pulsing... the machine is still live. The eruption is coming; can Enorl survive? The King looks at the Key, in the center of the heat, The task of the hero is yet incomplete. [Triple Guitar Solo: A frantic, high-speed duel representing the machine's countdown, followed by a soaring, heroic melody as Erik makes his choice] (Verse 3) He jams the Greatsword into the part, Of the ancient machine, to tear it apart. The ice and the fire collide in a blast, The chains of the Hollow Earth broken at last! The eruption is silenced, the magma turns cold, As the story of sacrifice finally is told. The ceiling collapses, the rift starts to close, As the King disappears in the smoke and the throes! (Outro) The Warlord is broken... The machine is destroyed... The King is a shadow... Lost in the void. Lord of the Sword! Lord of the Sword... (Sound of a massive cave-in followed by a long, ringing silence)
