Upon the basalt tooth of Devil Reef Where fog devours the moonlight whole The sea remembers ancient names Older than the human soul Beneath the drowning dark they wait Eyes unblinking in the deep Children of the ancient Mother Dreaming in their briny sleep Tonight the sea will open. Salt in the wind Blood in the tide Old gods wake From caverns wide Fog on the reef Moon turning red Voices rise From the ocean bed Kthaa… thur-ra-nai! Kthaa… thur-ra-nai! Shu'ul na-thae! Shu'ul na-thae! Vo-ruu… vo-ruu… Hydra-mae! On Devil Reef, cold waves breathe The fog steals light like a silent thief The sea remembers what men forgot A kingdom drowned where the sun is not The tide runs slow The waters turn black The ocean calls Her children back Nai-thul ae! Kruu-sha… kruu-sha… Hydra-vae... From the abyss she ascends tonight Mother Hydra crowned in night Pale flesh rising from the sea Ancient womb of blasphemy Eyes like moons beneath the tide Endless brood she holds inside Hear the Deep Ones cry below Gurrrrr! Before Mother they will go! Webbed hands claw through freezing foam From drowned cathedrals far from home Bulging eyes that never close Watch the world above repose Croaking hymns in briny breath Songs of birth and songs of death They rise to greet the tide-born queen The mother none should ever see I feel the tide inside my veins A colder blood that now remains Salt and shadow in my skin The ancient sea awakens within I see the webbing slowly grow The shape of what I am below The mask of Innsmouth takes its place The ocean writes upon my face Mother… I hear you calling Uru-kai… uru-kai… Shor-thal ae! Uru-kai… uru-kai… Shor-thal ae! Vo-thra… vo-thra… Na-keth ul! Hydra-mae… Hydra-mae… Hydra-mae… Mother Hydra rise and claim Break the surface with tidal wave From the abyss your children climb Ancient brood of elder time Golden eye above the sea Calling now to my destiny I hear the Deep Ones cry below Before the Mother... I will go... The Deep Ones sink beneath the wave The world of men turns cold and gray Mother awaits me... It's my time to be... The sacrifice... For thee...
